*THE GADANGME AUTHENTIC CALENDAR
Unlike ENGLISH calendar which starts in January, the GaDangme calendar begins in September. Historically, the GaDangme calendar had thirteen (13) months. Each GaDangme calendar month had twenty eight (28) days. The thirteen calandar months were reduced to twelve calendar months to conform with the European or the other calendar months in most countries of the world. Thus, the thirteenth month, known as YAKA, was eliminated and its number of days were distributed or added to the rest of the remaining calendar months. Thus, the GaDangme calendar months were as follows.

THE GA ALPHABET
Ga is a member of Kwa branch of Niger-Congo languaages. It is spoken in Ghana by approximately 2,000,000 people, particularly in the southeastern of Ghana around the capital Accra (Ga Mashi). The Dangmes are included.
Christian Jacobsen, the son of a Danish soldier and an African woman, possibly a GaDangme, devised a way of writing Ga with the Latin alphabet about 1764. The Ga alphabet has been revised a number of times since then, with the most recent changes in 1990.

Visitors to this website may also visit: www.learnganow.com Here, Nii Ayi-Bonte and his well-trained staff will train you to speakand write the Ga language in a short period of time in a very friendly environment or by correspondence.
